      EMS Week fun!

      Labette County EMS will host festivities on May 16th. Click here for the flyer!

St. Johns/Mercy Regional Foundation will host the 17th annual EMS appreciation dinner on  May 23, 2008 at the Holiday Inn at 36th and Rangeline in Joplin. Guest Speaker will be Randolph Mantooth (Johnny Gage from Emergency*) Autographs and memerobillia will be available. Festivities begin at 1700 with social hour. New Fleet Arrives!

The folks at Labette Health (formerly LCMC EMS) are sporting a whole new look! The new fleet has began arriving and it looks sharp! Along with the new trucks all EMS vehicles were re-fitted to match the graphic design of the new ambulances. New patches are also a part of the new look and feel for EMS. I have seen the new "Medium Duty" Chevrolet Chassis units and they are quite nice. Here's a picture!

Crawford County Breaks Ground!

Crawford County EMS has begun the process of construction of a new station! The building will be located on 69 Highway just north of the FSCC Harley/Davidson Mechanic Training facility north of Frontenac. It will house the department rescue unit, 2 ambulances, a rescue boat and an MCI Resource trailer. This will also be the home of the offices and classroom facility. The classroom will be large enough for 40-50 people. A tornado safe room will be available for staff and families along with new crew quarters. Projected completion is in the late fall but hopefully before Christmas 2008.
